1 StarThis series is getting more and more stupid. I used to really like Meg Cabot's books because they were easy to read and were always related to our problems as a teenager but Mia does a horrible job in handling them and she sets a bad example for teenagers.The first few books were magical. Mia, a normal teenager finds out that she's the princess of a small country and has no choice but to rule it someday as her dad cannot father any more children. We all wanted to know how her life would shape up. Will she meet a handsome prince? How does it feel to be a princess and all that stuff. But these new books have more problems and less purpose. Mia is an over-reacting, selfish, immature bitch who pretends that she cares about other people but her decisions are always stupid and self centered. The worst part is that she blames her actions on stuff like "hormones" and "Michael's Neck". I mean what kind of a person breaks up with their boyfriend just because he's not a virgin or "gave their precious gift to someone that they didn't love"??? She even kisses her best friends boyfriend and acts like it wasn't a big deal. She behaves as though it was Lilly's fault that her boyfriend kissed her. UGH! What a whore.This series is terribly predictable and has no suspense whatsoever. We, the audience, know what's about to happen ages before Mia realizes it. Is she really that stupid? And what I hate most about Mia's character is that she was so selfish that she didn't want to let her boyfriend go to Japan and save millions of life and prove himself just because she wouldn't be able to "smell his neck". I mean what kind of a person does that ? God, she is really annoying and whats even worse is that she always has something to complain about in every single book. I'm kind of surprised that I was even able to read these many princess diaries books without blowing my head off! I was trying to finish all of the books in the princess diaries series so that I would never have to worry or feel guilty about not finishing a series but now that I think about it, I think I made a terrible mistake by wasting my time on this. I will never ever read another princess diaries book again!

And I get it, but I really think that this book in the long run made the series.Yes, the breakup was painful. But it really was inevitable and I think in the long run it strengthened M&M. The thing is, when I first read this book I was ready for Michael and Mia to break up.Yes, them breaking up was like a getting pushed into the fountain scene for me. Sad and sick but true.I love the couple, but Mia was grossly immature at this point. And thankfully, Meg showed that the immaturity had consequences. I don’t think that’s something that is often seen in YA. That being said, I wasn’t exactly a fan of Michael in this one either. He really should’ve been more open about his sexual history than Mia, rather than to have her make gross assumptions.I.E. I think he should’ve brought it up in book six.It makes him human though, so again I think it was good characterization. But I see lots of people putting the breakup entirely on Mia. When I really think it was both of them-though mostly Mia.Reading the series again, the JP plot becomes blatantly obvious. I don’t even know why I shipped Jia way back then. Probably because I was sort of done with M&M and maybe I was suppose to ship Jia at that point.The book was surprisingly fast to read. I think it’s only a few pages over two hundred pages or so. Definitely one of the more thinner volumes, but then again I don’t think this is a volume where you really want to get into Mia’s head that much.She is at her absolute worse here.Lilly, as annoying as she can be, is actually a very sympathetic character. I think because Mia is just bat shit insane in this one, that you can’t help but feel sympathy for Lilly. Though, I’d think she’d get a clue about JP.Overall, this is a very well written book. While the break up is heart breaking it needed to happen and I thought the way it was done was well done.Also, Mia, your precious gift….no one cares.
Do You like book Princess On The Brink (2007)?
As I had never actually read this one ( I think I read up to book 7), I picked it out today even though I realized that my love for this serie had ended when I picked up Princess in Love yesterday.Mia is more annoying than ever. She is the most feather-brained, thoughtless, and idiotic heroine ever. If she could just take 5 minutes to breathe in and out and stop making a freaking dramatization out of every single thing that happened in her life, maybe she would attain her goal of self-realization. But no. Apparently being a princess isn't enough, she also has to be a queen. A drama queen.And up until here I actually liked Michael, but in this one, I have to admit that I sided with Mia at the end (her freaking out on him at the end is the only forgivable thing she did- even though she acted out of selfishness and not out of principle); what an effin asshole.Seriously I'm so pissed with these books, I won't even bother to read 9 & 10...it's just more likely to destroy entirely the good memories associated with reading these books when I was young. I still love the movies, however!!! They are so different from the books, and well, it's with Anne Hathaway, so what's not to like?!

Mia had just entered her senior year of high school.However, things seem to go wrong. Her boyfriend suddenly announces that he is leaving for Japan in order to experiment on creating a robot. Mia is confused at why can't Michael stay and finds out that Michael is going to japan as a sort of getaway from "sex". Michael had wanted to make love with Mia but Mia insisted she wasn't ready yet.Mia then decides to do anything to keep Michael even giving up her virginity. But they end up breaking up with each other. mean while, Mia has to run for student government and deals with the breakup. How much more will she have to go through before her senior year ends?? This book was very good, everybody should read it. Even though Mia is a princess she still has to deal with regular teen issues, this shows that everybody is the same, just because someone is "someone", it doesn't mean things are different for them.

This is a higher 3 star rating than past Princess Diaries books have received. I actually enjoyed this much more than any of its predecessors; I gave it the same number of stars as some of the others got simply because I'm trying to class up my ratings system. Books are gonna have to earn their stars from now on!Well, Princess on the Brink is much more about Mia and Michael's relationship than many of the past books have been. Michael reveals that he is going on a very long trip to Japan in order to-- wait for it-- build a robotic arm that will allow doctors to perform open-heart surgery without actually having to open the chest. I honestly don't even understand that, but Michael is a genius and I'm not. I also don't understand why a guy that smart likes Mia, but the heart wants what the heart wants.This book was much more sex-focused than previous books. As soon as I realized that would be the case, I decided I would be liberal-minded and not complain about it in my review. However, after awhile something about it was unpleasant to me.
