This... is such a hard book to read. It's difficult to understand where the characters are coming from and the dialogue felt impossible to follow sometimes. There were moments where I had no idea what was going on and the mood whiplashes between Charlie and Will were insane. They argued, a lot, and half the time I didn't know what they were arguing about.By the end I had no idea what kind of story the author was trying to tell. This book was a mess. The concept is good, and the characters are fine, so why did I put 1 star on it? It's because of how difficult the story is too follow. Frankly it would have been better if this was a novella and about 45% wasn't there! This book took me so long to finish because it just wouldn't move!! The same things getting repeated over and over practically killed it stone dead. The one sentence and often monosyllabic interaction, not even dialogue, was so often interrupted by huge amounts of description. Broken thoughts, broken sentences, everything broken. The same issue were again and again re-visited throughout 90% of the story with no hint of a solution in sight since none of the charas made their concerns known. Frankly the book reminded me of a teenager's conversation with their bff about the first one's crush saying "Good morning" and how they said it, and if they smiled etc etc just more intellectually with better vocabulary and grammar. The reason I continued reading this book (with only reading the barely there dialogue and nothing else) is because I always want to see how a book ends and imagine my surprise (not the good kind!) when all the questions and doubts and everything were resolved in like the last 10-15 pages with Charlie getting drunk and being a bit more talkative! I couldn't even believe it when i reached the end of the book that that was it. Bam! Charlie talks and everything is good between them and the end!*siiiigh* I almost lost my appetite for m/m romance!
Do You like book Play It Again, Charlie (2012)?
DNF - the writing was incomprehenisble, the characters uninteresting and the formatting was godawful
