About book Petites Morsures Entre Amis (2011)

i'm going to be generous here it was probably only deserved two stars and if it werent for the fantastic plot it would've only been one star. Quite disappointed in the follow up to such a great first book. Most of the characters were static and those that changed did so for the worse. Merit got over her snottiness but there was the whole lusting after two boys thing which i couldve been ok with if even one of the boys had remotely deserved her. Ethan is the same condescending ass as the last book only more condescending and..assier. First you serve a girl up to another guy on a silver platter then when they actually like each other doing everything you can to get in the way of that? ASS. And maybe if he actually liked her i could forgive him but hes STILL constantly belittling her and generally being an ASS to her. Then theres morgan. I liked him in the first book though i didnt necessarily trust him. In this book i didnt like him and since it appears he left merit to her death looks like my not trusting him was on point. Morgan acts like a psycho jealous bf throughout the whole thing even when confronted with a double standard. So the romance was pretty much nonexistent for the book especially sad since there was supposed to be a love triangle. The plot was the saving grace of this book. Plenty of action and intrigue and happening at just the right pace. I feel like the author packed the cliff hanger a little over much though. Setting up the plot for the next book is fine but adding an extra mystery invitation...just too much especially for someone who isn't sure she wants to continue the series. The writing was middle ground it was good but at times a little overwritten...like the language was sometimes too lofty for the setting. And maybe it was my finals brain but there was a whole section of the big showdown scene that just confused the hell out of me. Also the vamp myth/powers area of the story got no development at all which was really disappointing. Bottom line: not a great follow up. if i manage to get my hands on number 3 ill give the series another go but for now im onto bigger (and hopefully better) things. i'm going to be generous here it was probably only deserved two stars and if it werent for the fantastic plot it would've only been one star. Do You like book Petites Morsures Entre Amis (2011)?

Everything in Merit's life has changed since being turned into a vampire. She has moved into Cadogan House to be closer to her job as Sentinel. Her best friend, Mallory, is studying to be a sorceress and having a hard time adjusting. And, as per instructions from her boss, Merit is dating the Master of Navarre House. Ethan is worried that vampire feeding parties will become public knowledge and humans will turn on the vampires. When Ethan asks Merit to use her family connections to help prevent a reporter from bringing the story to light, Merit must make contact with her estranged family. Ethan and Merit work together to keep the story under wraps and uncover the threat to the vampires. This was a good follow-up to the first book. Merit is trying to adjust to her new life. Obeying her master sometimes grates on her, but she tries to fit in with the rest of the household. I love Merit's snarky attitude. I also like way she must juggle her relationship with Morgan and her lust for Ethan. My rating: 4.5 Stars.
