Very nice series. It took me a couple of days to read all the ten books released so far. It has been a wonderful experience for me. Merit is simply awesome -- she is funny, clever, strong, and loyal to her friends. And she has some silly quirks and food habits. Her growth through out the series is nice to follow if a bit rushed and fast-paced. Ethan, Mallory, Cather, Jeff, Lindsey, Luc, Gabriel, and all the rest of the cast are special in their own ways and fun to read. In each book, Merit and her friends face a problem(s) and all of them rush to solve it. They solve a problem only to turn around and face a new one. Don't get me wrong. I liked how the characters developed (matured) into their roles as they try to overcome their challenges. But all of these have one thing in common -- Someone causes a problem, Merit and her friends react by searching for clues, gathering evidence, finding the culprit, and so on to solve the problem. I wish to a read a different style of story once in a while where Merit doesn't just react, need to act as a detective or save a city. Despite my nitpicking, I like this series a lot and shall continue to read the rest of the books when released.Overall rating (10 books): 4.5/5.0 Although a great paranormal and romance series, Some Girls Bite isn’t all about “how can I get the guy?” In a combination of Anita Blake and Buffy, the character of Merit grow in this book from a tomboy who horrifically woke up with a cocktail dress and painted red nails to a woman who can take care of herself. Transitioning from mortal to vampire, Merit depends on her roommate and new acquaintances to help her adjust. Merit not only adjusts but excels. With action, drama, and a healthy dose of snarky comments, this is one book you’ll want to sink your teeth into.

this book was okay for me.Three stars as it has promise. I'm not a fan of the end but that's just my blood lust.Interesting primary and secondary characters. It's no molly harper which i fully enjoyed but it can be something.I'm not a fan of this chosen one thing though and I'm not a fan of characters who don't ask enough questions. Also when they hit on "the idea" and then dismiss it as something distracted them or some such nonsense.
