So I normally avoid rockers like the plague. I just don't enjoy them as a rule. This book is my exception, perhaps because the love story was just so sweet. Reg is the perfect match for Jeremy - his rock, his best friend, and his true love. This was not insta love, theirs was a love that grew from support, trust, and of course attraction. The premise for how they came together is a little out there, but I can totally suspend reality a bit because everything else was just perfection. Oh, as an aside, can I say I hate Jeremy's mother? How cold! While I typically jump to the conclusion that rock star romances are going to be rife with party scenee, drama, big egos, multiple betrayals and cast of many loathsome secondary characters, I was wrong, and in fact, very pleasantly surprised when it came to this book. Jeremy, the rock star, wants his downtime to be spent quietly. He shuns the paparazzi, which is not unusual, but also rejects the empty sex, parties, drugs...what many young musicians would consider "perks". Having been famous from birth, he's never been in love or in a stable relationship where the other party did look to benefit from his fame. He craves human affection, friendship and unconditional love. He even describes himself as "needy", several times throughout the book. All Jeremy has ever longed for comes in the large, muscular, beautiful, tattoo-covered, friendly, smart, funny, and very masculine form of Reg. Reg was tending bar at a small town hole in the wall, when Jeremy came in for a drink, hoping to keep a low profile and unwind in peace. The two men connected that night & Jeremy enjoyed this man so much, he invited him to go on tour with him as a companion. Taking a leap of faith, Reg accepted the offer. A beautiful & monumental journey that changes both of their lives ensues...Don't miss this...I could not put it down!
