Kitabı okumak isteme sebebim hem güzel bir hikaye olacağını düşünmem hem de Çin ile ilgili detaylar öğrenmek istememdi.Bu kitap sayesinde Çin'in son 100 yıllık politik geçmişi hakkında bilgi edinmiş oldum.Bu da beni çok mutlu etti.İçindeki hikayede oldukça keyifliydi.Yarı yarıya Amerikan bir yazarın biyografisi sayılabilir.Kitabı okurken ve bitirince hemen karakterleri webde tarayıp görmek ve bilgi edinme isteği duydum ki bu oldukça ilgimi çektiğini gösteriyor konunun.Yazarın anlatımını ise bazen bir hikaye bazende bir araştırma yazısı gibi algıladım,belki çeviriden de kaynaklanmış olabilir.Cümlelerde düşüklükler var.Ama konusu ve verdiği bilgiler için bile okumak keyifli olacaktır.Kitabı okuyunca içinde bahsi grçen yazarın kitaplarını da okuma isteği uyandı bende.(Pearl S.Buck ın kitaplar) I really, really liked this book. I see from other ratings that not everyone was as pleased as I was with the book and perhaps it is because I didn't have the preconceived expectations some others had. I thought this was a wonderful writing of historical fiction though I will admit, not really knowing the Pearl S. Buck story I have no idea what was real and what was fiction. But I would highly recommend this book.
