About book Owen's Daughter (2014)

Thank you Good reads for a free copy of this excellent book. If you like Jodi Picoult, and I do, then. Mapson is the author for you. This book can be read as a standalone but it does have characters that have a life in other works. I look forward to collecting her other books. Mapson tells the story of a mother looking for her child, the struggle to remain sober and drug free and negotiate past hurts and mend fences in her relationships with family. The book spins out to other characters and stories which are engaging and thought provoking. I loved this book! Jo-Ann mostly used characters from previous books and I liked that. I am a big fan of Jo-Ann Mapson and have read most of her books. That being said, her characters stick with you and you start wondering what happens to them next when one of her books ends. It was a nice twist to see previous characters from different novels get to know each other and develop new relationships. This book introduces some new characters also and ends the story in a way that leaves you wondering what is next. Thank goodness she is planning another book to continue the story. This book does not rely on her previous books. It is a stand alone story, but it is so much better when you know about the character's pasts in detail. It definitely made me want to pull my copy of "Blue Rodeo" and re-read it since it has been a while and was a great book.
