I was reluctant to start this tome of a book (710 pages!!) and only wanted to skim a few pages to see what it was like. The first four pages sucked me in and kept me awake until I finally finished it.Oh my gosh - this book has EVERYTHING - Adventure, romance, women's suffrage movement, history, racial rights, African superstitions and society, economics, a main character you love to hate who becomes a main character you want to scream at in rage who becomes an amazingly likeable character - but most of all - this book has COFFEE!!I really enjoyed this book. What a gem! Ci ho messo un po' a leggerlo, non perché fosse brutto, tutt'altro, ma perché non ero nello stato mentale giusto. In effetti, non mi sono appieno goduto la storia, che comunque merita di essere letta. Bello il viaggio attraverso i vari sentori che può avere il caffè, e bella la storia, che tratta di svariati argomenti, come il voto alle donne, l'indipendenza femminile, il capitalismo sfrenato che ci ha condotti alla situazione odierna. Sicuramente un buono spunto di riflessione.
