This could have been a really good book. It has the basis for a good plot. I hate to say it but there was just too much sex. I got to the point that I would skim over it.That brings me to the main reason that I have only given this book a 3. The language! I absolutely detest the C bomb. It's a profanity that I can't bear so to have it used in nearly every sex scene just leaves me cold. I tried to ignore it and persevere but I couldn't stop myself from cringing. No! Just no! It ruined the book for me. I suspect I'm not the only one as all of my friends feel the same way and it can't just be us that hate it. Big hugs and kisses to Aura for the lend! This book was a three-star read rounded up to four because of potential. I hate insta-love but adore mate-for-life magic, so this split the middle for me. Ava, our female MC, was alright I suppose, if a bit passive. The most interesting thing about Diskant was his name. He was otherwise a pretty generic hot-guy alpha-type. What has me salivating for the next two books in the series are the supporting characters. This book spent a surprising amount of time laying groundwork for future installments, and two very NOT passive, very intriguing heroines were introduced. For once, I'm more interested in them than their male intendeds, go figure. If you're on the fence about giving this a try, PNR fans who love dirty talk should at least download the sample. Diskant got downright filthy at times.
