This was a fun short story but there was one glaring thing that really took away from my reading enjoyment. Michael and Lacey met a the small town bar and there is immediate chemistry between the two. But Lacey,a vanilla girl, bolts when she finds out about Michael's kinky side. Their burgeoning relationship encounters some roadblocks that cause them both to question what they want. The thing that bugged me was that Michael said the lack of trust was an immediate deal breaker after they had only been together a few weeks. Keep in mind that Lacey is brand new to the bdsm scene and he automatically expects her to trust him completely...ridiculous!!!! He could have been a little more sensitive and put himself in her shoes and allow her to gain her feet a little. Isn't that what a dom is supposed to do? Take care of his submissive instead of issuing unreasonable ultimatums? I don't know if it was simply a poor plot device to move the story along but it didn't work for me. I think if the story had been longer or they had had more time to develop the relationship,then I wouldn't have had a problem. I was kind of expecting drama between the couple), tears and heartache from this book after reading the excerpt but I guessed wrong. What was interesting was that drama wasn't that big of an issue but it did bode on subjects regarding DOMS and their SUBS. Was it kinky for me as a reader. A little, I have to read it with my eyes wide open and not judge. I like the chemistry that Michael felt towards Lacey. He truly is portrayed as the alpha dominant male and want what he wants. It's an interesting read. Maybe I will give other DOMS and SUB books are read next time.
