This book literally picks up where the third in the series left off. I found this frustrating as I have not read the third book in over six months, and had not only forgotten character names, but some of what had happened. I would have liked a small recap to remind me what was going on. Unlike the book before it this book has a better 'ending'. Not all issues are resolved, but you aren't left wondering who is alive and who is not, unless you read the epilogue. I recommend you do not read the last three pages, unless you have the next book ready to read, or will be rereading. It is not a true epilogue where you learn where the characters are later in life and all is well and good. This epilogue creates another cliff hanger. I gave this book a 3 because I'm not sure if I like this one. I even slept on it first before deciding what to give it. I still love the characters and I kinda like the direction the story is going. Its original and not something I have read before. I was even suprised to find myself liking Deven who I've never liked since the incident with David. I hope to see more Stella and Lark in further installments because they bring a youthful innocence to the story which at times seems kinda dark. This book just seemed kinda slow moving at times. I found myself wanted to skip ahead and I had to force myself not to. I still love the series and look forwars to see what happens next.
Do You like book Of Shadow Born (2013)?
good from beginning to end. Didn't want to put it down.
