Fiktiivinen joskin varsin dokumentaarisen tuntuinen tarina ihmisoikeuksien polkemisesta Iranissa. Mielenkiintoista olisi tietää, oliko tällä alunperin netissä julkaistulla sarjakuvalla minä verran vaikutusta todellisiin tapahtumiin. Vai oliko ja onko tämän suurin ansio kertoa 2009-tapahtumista Iranin rajojen ulkopuolella? Tarina on kerrottu niin, että ilman selitysosaa moni juttu jäisi tajuamatta ja alaviitteitäkin on kiitettävästi. Sikäli voisi ajatella, että alkuperäisen julkaisun kohdeyleisönä on ollut iranilaiset.Synkkä kirja, vaikka jonkinlainen toivonkipinä lopussa viritetään. I'm torn whether to give this 3 or 4 stars. I think it's a very important book in terms of offering a lens into a story world not often seen in the West. However, I'm too close to the content to tell if it gives enough context to outside audiences to be understandable. There's a few pages with some nice artwork that transcends a basic frame by frame style, but I did wish there had been more creative composition and illustration throughout. If you are looking for character development & depth this story will fall flat. All that being said, I think it's a creative way to capture and share this political moment in Iran and worth a read.
Do You like book O Paraíso De Zahra (2010)?
Absolutely stellar. A graphic novel must-read, right up there with Persepolis.
