Vol 3 – Nyphron Rising 5-StarsIn my last review covering Thief of Swords – book 1: Vol 1 and 2, I mentioned it was a struggle to keep reading and not give up in it, but half way through book 2 it had finally paid off, and I immediately started on this one without any delay. Vol. 3 Slows down just a touch, but maintains a good balance between narration, detail and dialogue and keeps a steady pace that prevents you putting the book down. Royce and Hadrian never cease to entertain. There is some jumping around, as characters travel at different paces and locations before connecting again and every now and then it seems like Sullivan forgotten take notes about his time line, but it’s easily dismissed. The only thing I do have to gripe about is the mental questions in first person thrown out repeatedly by Arista. Every time they kicked me out of the story. Very annoying. Getting all the preliminaries out of the way, like book one there is a lot or preliminary building here, but its more action based as everything is being moved into place for some high yield action that deals with the overall ARC of the series. The clues and questions are dispersed perfectly to keep you guessing over them, yet the story doesn’t lag, so you haven’t much time to really dwell on your own on the ‘who dunn’it’ as it keeps you going from one even to the next. Again Royce and Hadrian make quiet the pair, with a funny bit of luck/bad luck that tends to make plans not work out as well as wanted, but enough to get them out of trouble in the nick of time. BEST CATCH:“I can’t believe they caught you.”It wasn’t as easy as you think. They are not very bright.”“So you let them catch you?”“Ingenious, don’t you think?”“Oh, brilliant.”“I figured it was the best way to find you.” Royce shuffled his feet in the water, grimacing. “So what’s your excuse?... Tak nejak o trošku hviezdičky menej. Stále sa to dobre číta, dej odsýpa a konečne sa človek dozvie o dedičovi a ochráncovi o niečo viac. Arista preniká do Umenia a zisťuje o čom to vlastne je a aké sú jeho obmedzenia. Spoločne s Hadrianom a Royceom získavajú spojenectvo s rebelskou armádou. Na inom mieste sa cisárovna Medina dostáva z letargie a celá kniha je prípravou na udalosti, ktoré nastanú a kde sa rozhodne. Uvidíme, ešte nás čakajú 3 knihy.
