It was a bit by chance I picked this book up. I browsed the internet and found myself reading about self-publishing and a link to this author's book. I haven't heard of her before, but she sounded nice on her blog, she had other officially published books out there and I liked the premise. It has been a long time since I read a *good* dragon book.I bought it and didn't regret the decision for a single second! It's fast, has a wonderful world and a very kind main character, that is acutely aware that his kindness is not a good thing in his world at all. Add to that dragons, spirits, a dead cat, a feisty magician, and even more dragons you have the beginning of something great. What makes it great is then the plot that simply takes you along on gentle twists and violent turns with a smoothness of a cat. Yes, this is a good book. Yes, it's worth to be bought. Sequel? The authoress promised one at the beginning of 2015. I, for sure, will buy it. I loved this book so much! Aaron's world-building skills are so great you will really believe in dragons. And I can hardly wait to see these characters again in the sequel. My absolutely only quibble is that the story is basically a coming of age tale, which is usually a young adult theme. And indeed, the characters read like 17-year-olds instead the twenty-somethings the author labels them. But I still recommend it. It's a great read!
Do You like book Nice Dragons Finish Last (2000)?
I really enjoyed the Spirit Thief series, so I'm hoping this will be equally entertaining. :-)

Sometimes a book is just plain fun to read. This is such a book.
