Not sure why but I think this is my favorite of the series***** Sometimes I get in the mood for an "easy" read and this series was exactly what I was looking for! I discovered the Melanie Shawn "Crossroads" books with the first one My First as a free iBook download. While the writing is certainly not Stephan King caliber they all flowed well and made for an enjoyable read of the mindless, sweet, love story with a happy ending variety, which is exactly what I was looking for when I picked up and read the whole series in a matter of a few weeks! If you like a happy ending with sexy twists along the way (without totally over doing it which some romance novels do) this series is just for you! 2.5 Stars. Okay, so I liked Amber, and I actually did like Seth, but this story definitely suffered from its length. The couple doesn't hook up again until 77% of the book is over. I really needed more time in there for Seth to get over his issues, and for he and Amber to get to know one another better. It was way too much the, "oh shit, the end of the book is near! *wave magic wand* All is well!" ending. It was too abrupt of a turnaround for Seth. He has some legit issues—PTSD, his injury, being a civilian for the first time in his adult life and readjusting to living in his home town with his family close by, coming to terms finally with the loss/abandonment of his mom. That isn't stuff that should have been brushed aside, and especially the PTSD is not solved by falling in love.
