I so love this series! It was great to find out about some of the other players in the story. Franks, you are so much more than I ever thought! If you have been reading this series you won't be dissatisfied with this installment, and only enough, if you have never read any of the books, you could peruse this as a standalone I suppose. Admittedly you should read the earlier books to really get the mentioned background pieces, and while Franks's story is great this book was not as heavy on the witty comebacks we all know and love! Don't worry, its still a great read and makes sense. I mean Franks really isn't verbally witty! Anyways series is still a blast! An excellent addition to the Monster Hunter verse.This story takes place immediately after MH Legion but rather than focusing on MHI, Franks is the main.Rumors of his origins are confirmed or denied as his history and purpose are revealed. At the same time, Correia lays down the ground work for future novels, planting a few seeds that should grow into some very good stories.If you've liked the rest of the series, this is more of the same and just as good.
