About book Moi Et Becca (2013)

When this was good, it was really good. Gripping. But when it was bad, it was really bad.I thought the whole storyline with Max & Johnny was tiresome and confusing, neither of the girls could make up their minds. I hated becca, and thought even as a villainous character she was below average. The amount of teen sex and conspiracy theories surrounding becca's death was ridiculous. On the other hand, there were good parts. I liked Dana's spiral into insanity, which showed how grief shakes people. I also liked the ending very much so, and I'm glad Max finally saw sense *Spoilers*My friend recommended this book to me as she read it a few years ago and loved it, I have to say I felt the same way :) This book took a spin on your typical high school drama/romance and had my emotions everywhere! I could completely relate to the main character (for some reason I cannot find her name anywhere, I'm not even sure if her name was mentioned! It probably was but it's just me :L)and thought that it was a very well written, thought out story. So the 'New Girl' was from Florida where it was sunny all the time and had very close relationships with her family and friends spending most of her time on the beach with her dog Jasper (This part was actually crazy weird because 'New Girl' has a Labrador called Jasper and so do I! :3) Anyway, she'd always dreamed of going to this school 'Manderley' since she was very young, until one day her parents told her the news that she got accepted! She was really excited to go and when she got there a lot of things happened that made her wish she'd never gone.Of course being the new girl is hard but she found it a lot harder than anyone else as she had been offered the space in the school which was previously occupied by one of the most popular girls that had gone missing...Rebecca Normandy. Throughout this book you watch as 'New Girl' meets many people, gets talked about and frowned upon a lot, meets a very special someone and how she deals with all the stuff that's going on. So Becca Normandy had gone missing and everyone loved her, which meant as 'New Girl' took her spot, everyone hated her. Nobody knew what had happened to Becca however some of her closer friends did. At the end of the book, 'New Girl' and everyone else finds out exactly what had happened and realised that Becca might not have been as popular as she thought. My description of this book isn't the best description ever however, I really do recommend it to anyone. It's very mysterious in some places and very sweet in others. I was nearly in tears at the end, not because everyone found out Becca had died, or at the funeral (which was very sad), it was when 'New Girl' had to say goodbye to all of her friends she had made, especially Max. Max had a special place in my heart and he just seemed perfect. I literally got jealous of the relationship that was and wasn't technically a relationship between 'New Girl' and Max. I ship them so hard! *fangirling and falling in love with fictional characters, Lord help me!* To sum it all up, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I would recommend it to everyone. I was a bit weary at first because I wanted a break from high school drama/romances but I'm so glad I did! This one really surprised me and I really hope a sequel is made! *hint hint Paige Harbison* ;)
