About book Misunderstandings (2014)

I read this in July and I'm reviewing it in October so I might be a bit hazy on the details! So good!! I loved the characters, I loved the plot and I loved the writing! Can you tell I loved this book?Although this is New Adult, it was so classy. Mature characters, the plot twist around half way through is heartbreaking and just so well done! I think I prefer this to No Attachments, the first book in the series although I did read this first. It can be read as a standalone, it doesn't spoil the first book at all.5 stars! Somehow Tiffany King's writing pulls me in from the beginning. After only a few chapters of their past history being retold I had already fallen for Justin. Something about a guy who is a family man that pulls at my heart strings and lets me know he really is a good guy (even with all of Brittni's doubts). This book was page turner and I practically finished it in a day. The story took me back to my days in college. The scene where Justin's sister Hollie interrupts them in the basement brought back memories, lol. The story felt real and it was fun, while heartfelt. My "Misunderstanding" was their misunderstanding. I thought the way Justin handled their breakup was really immature. I didn't like how easily he let Brittni go and didn't even bother the chase after her. I could tell how much he loved her and couldn't believe he would let a week of her acting different make him react the way he did. I was sure he was going to call her after a few days, and then after being caught with a girl on his lap kissing at the party only a week or so later. The fact that he just let her go and moved on so easily didn't sit well with me. I also wished Brittni had stood up to him and said something about what really happened to her. With the love like theirs I didn't see a simple misunderstanding like the one they had keeping them apart. I guess I like when there is a chase between the characters.Their reconciliation was understandable, knowing their history and the deep love they shared. However after they left the elevator it was like they no longer talked about the "misunderstanding" they had and things just worked out. It seemed quick and easy with not much pain left from what was a heartbreaking event for then both of them.Overall it was a great read and I think I might even reread it someday!
