I won this here on GR a couple of months ago. Would never have read it otherwise, as I wasn't crazy about the first one. This one was WAY better. Gladie was a much more engaging character in this one. And the story was good. I don't understand why the publisher is going with such AWFUL covers for these books. The covers look like cheesy romances and that's not what the books are. If you're thinking about picking up this series, PLEASE ignore the stupid looking covers! You'll find a pretty decent mystery between them! RECOMMEND! I received a copy of this book through Goodreads Firstreads.I love this series! I was so glad to have won this book right after I finished reading An Affair to Dismember. And I have Love Game on my Kindle now.I think Elise Sax is great at writing witty and smart romances. Rarely do I find myself laughing out loud when I read fiction (except, of course, during anything I'm reading by Jen Lancaster), but Elise Sax kept me laughing throughout Matchpoint. I'm not sure I'd classify this book as a real romance - more mystery with a little romance thrown in for good measure.I'm enjoying Gladie's interactions with Holden and Spencer and find myself as confused as she is in trying to pick one. And all of the great secondary characters are perfect - Gladie's grandmother, her best friends, the tea shop owner (Ruth), the mayor, and more. Everyone is a well fleshed out character that truly adds something to the overall story and doesn't seem just dropped in and serving no purpose. Can't wait to start Love Game!
