Although there are similarities between this book and Gibran's The Prophet, the latter is a more cohesive and enlightening work. This mixed bag has some insights that are helpful and well stated, but they are mixed with biblical quotes and references, and with a bizarre quote from Alfred Lord Tennyson (it is better to have loved and lost...) that - while apropos of the topic - defies the premise of the book's origin during the Crusades.
