I am rating it 5 stars because I totally love the book. It's just so awesome.Jesee is this amazing guy whom you can't resist loving.Although he is old fashioned but what more can we expect from someone who's been dead for 150 years. He is so caring and protecting.Suze is also great. I like her character she is strong and wants to do things her way but she always puts herself in danger and Jesse ends up saving her. Bottom line is that i will definately end up rereading it. Or 7/10. Just what I needed: light, fluffy, smart and good fun. A couple of plot holes and so like Buffy the Vampire Slayer in several ways (the Watcher type character, the Scoobie Gang, the school setting, the hot dead love interest) but all in all very well executed. Interesting to read it 12 years after publication and note the changes in teen culture - its commented as unusual that 4 people in a group have a mobile phone, now they would be ubiquitous. Also, internet usage was obviously a newish thing.
