Leah Taylor moves her family from town to town because her 6 year-old is a genius and her grandfather is an eccentric and they just can't fit in. In the latest town, she meets a sexy doctor whose wife died three years ago. The chemistry is instantaneous, but Shane O'Grady (the doctor) and Leah are both afraid of commitment, he because his wife's death devastated him and she because her husband left her and their boys for an 18-year-old.Maybe because I don't live in a small town, I couldn't relate to Leah's fears about "fitting in." Nor could I buy into the idea that her neighbor, the neighborhood loud-mouth, could have it in for her enough to circulate a petition to force Leah and her family to leave the town. And, the idea that two people could meet, fall in love and decide to marry after two months is unbelievable to me, and, yes, I know it's a romance novel, but still...The book was free. Had I paid for it, I would have given it only one star. This is a cute story, full of lots of fun and humorous moments. Leah and Shane were likeable characters and I rooted for them to get together. The genius son and inventor grandfather added comedy to the story, as did Arnold the dog, who usually was able to provide an interruption when a romantic scene began to get a little steamy! This is "clean" contemporary fiction. There are a few moments that heat up, but never go too far (in my opinion). I enjoyed this easy read.
