What a great book! The storyline is seamless and the characters are easy to get attached to. I read this in one day and could not wait for the second book.Rae is a country music star running from a horrible accident that has transformed her life and ruined her reputation. She leaves TN and moves to NC to live with her Nana to escape the press and try to start over. This break allows her to find "herself" again and she falls in love with the local bad boy, Cole. Cole is a young man who has been dealt a rough lot in life. A Mom who lives in and out of rehab and a Dad who left him and didn't look back. He helps raise his young sister while managing their inherited bar and trying to survive. He lands himself in trouble with his temper, but underneath the toughness there is a man just needing to be loved. One day he meets Rae and his life is changed for the better. I enjoyed their journey and can't wait for what is next. I've read & enjoyed Ms. Valentine's Holland Springs series, as well. This book is New Adult with a cliffhanger-ish ending. Country singer Violet Lynn flees Nashville for her Nana's house in the aftermath of a personal tragedy. Soon after arriving, she meets resident bad boy, Cole Morgan. The other side of Cole is that he's raising his younger sister and running a bar with help from his brother while his mother is in rehab (again). Sparks fly the first time they meet. Both Cole and Violet open up to one another. There are some interesting twists at the end that left me curios about how this will play out. Side note: After my comments on odd editing mishaps (that I did not notice in Ms. Valentine's other books), the author contacted me saying that the version that went live on Amazon was not the final copy. She has uploaded the final copy now, so be sure to check for an updated version.
