The much anticipated story of Jonas and Rachel."When the cat is away the mouse will play."Rachel was pregnant when Jones first discovered that she was his mate. Merinus set Rachel up to work for Jonas as his assistant basically setting it up that Jonas will have to be around and claim his mate rather than run and hide from the fact. Breeds and mates are munipulative and so much fun to read. Who knew the Bogeyman of the Breeds has a softer side?"When the cat is away the mouse will play." Omg that line had me rolling. I laughed so hard my daughter asked me what was so funny, and that's not something I want to explain to a 6 yr old. So during this book I came up with more questions than answers while enjoying the emotional ride of Jonas discovering his feelings for Amber and Rachel and looking back on the fact he hid his emotions and drove away everyone he's supposed to care about. Wow doesn't matter if men are Breen or full human they all try to hide their emotions. So I'm not going to do a full review on this book because others have done a better job but I will review my thoughts and questions as I read this.First off I love Cassie - she's a little scary sometimes, but such a great character. I still want to know who her mate is and how come he hasn't shown up since running from the hospital in a previous Breen novel. Scheme and Tanner's I think. Okay so; so much went on in this book that I'm still going omg what is going to happen. What did Brandenmore inject Amber with? Is Amber Davids mate? Did Brandenmore finally get a breakthrough with his version of the mating-aging hormone?... See so many questions and no answers yet. Who is Ely's mate? I think its Jackal but that could just be my wishful thinking.Loved Rachels confrontation with the Leo and his mate Elizabeth, god she has some nerve standing up to "the Leo"... It was great. Sorry about the jumbled mess of this review but yep between my notes I'm still taking it all in. The last sentence had me exclaiminng out loud, "WHAT!!!!" So I have a feeling Lora Leigh has more surprises up her sleave.
