Insgesamt ein gutes Buch, auch wenn es für mich nicht annähernd an 'Der Schwarm' heranreicht. Grundsätzlich mag ich Schätzings Schreibstil sehr, das recht Klare, Präzise und doch auch Bildhafte, mit dem er Orte, Dinge, Personen, Gedanken und Geschehnisse beschreibt. Jedoch hatte ich in 'Limit', ganz anders als noch im Schwarm, zuweilen das Gefühl, dass der Autor sich hierin selbst ein bisschen zu sehr gefällt, denn einige Bilder und Vergleiche wirken doch arg konstruiert und über's Ziel hinaus geschossen. Zudem hat der Roman einige eindeutige Längen; damit meine ich gar nicht mal die extrem ausführliche Exposition - das ist etwas, das mir gefällt und worauf man sich bei diesem Autor auch einzulassen hat. Aber gerade in der Mitte (z.B. bei der Verfolgungsjagd in Quyu und im Rest Shanghais) wünscht man sich doch einen etwas strafferen Fortgang der Geschichte. Alles in allem bleibt aber dennoch der Eindruck, ein gutes Buch gelesen zu haben: insgesamt gut geschrieben und auch gut recherchiert. Dennoch keine uneingeschränkte Empfehlung an alle, die 'Der Schwarm' großartig fanden. The length of this book may put some off, but I was still pleasantly surprised. I'm not usually a fan of books related to space travel/living, science fiction, etc., but this is one of the few that continued to hold my attention. There are two main storylines, and at first they don't seem related, but they tie in at the end and everything clicks into place. I sometimes found it difficult to keep track of all the characters, but there is a list in the back that helped me to keep track. The only problems I had with this were perhaps a few of the frantic thought processes of characters that were a bit repetitive, and the introduction of a few bumps in the last hundred pages or so that didn't seem completely necessary. Other than those elements, I enjoyed it and would recommend it - as long as you don't mind the length!
