Why can't a fantasy sit on its own? Why must Arthur's mythology be the only definition of a fantasy? I don't understand the main character. So swiftly the girl goes from losing her sister to being adopted by her teacher. Felt I missed layers of adaptation to the new situation. I'm still not sure I like her. She seems unable to tell the truth and gets upset when others around her are equally dishonest or not forthright. Had to look up Nixie on the internet as it wasn't explained enough in the book. That seemed to be true of the other beings.But the book held my interest enough to finish and start the next book in the series. The second story keeps the fantastic adventure and excitement from the first story, with the great addition of dragons and witches. Great characters with fun and adventure. Jensen is a great female lead character.As this story is short I do not want to go into much detail but you can check out my review on goodreads or my website. I love the pace these stories keep. They are very entertaining with twists and excitement that you don't quite see coming. I find them very imaginative and it's nice to read short stories to break up the longer books. Perfect for weekend, beach or before bed reading.
Fantastic novella, ended with a cliffhanger leaving me wanting more. I did not want this to end.
