About book Light Switch (2011)

Seemed rather long compared to others that I've been reading recently, but I didn't really feel bored. There was not much plot beyond the bedroom as it were. I mean, I don't think I actually ever found out what she did for a living other than it involved an order of 'brass'. I didn't find myself really annoyed at all, and it did feel like all the BDSM aspects were given a good introduction. (Meaning this book honestly would have been a better introduction to BDSM than any of the other 50 Shades of Crap that are out there that have been literally been giving people the wrong impression, the wrong rules, and have been letting people get hurt.) The only time I got irked at all, was that I felt her starting to get trained as a Domme was a little too soon into her own introduction into the BDSM lifestyle. BUT, it was well done, and thus I don't actually have a problem with how it was done. As it is even pointed out in the books, one doesn't have to start out as a sub before becoming a Domme. Some people are never meant to be subs, some are switches. But on the other hand, I do think that anyone who plans on wielding the lash so to speak, should experience it themselves at least once. But that's just my opinion and not really important to this story since she did experience being a sub before she started Domme training. So that is good. This is a fun friends-with-benefits sexy story. A little kinky. A little free love. It had the potential to dig into polyamory, the plot certainly pointed in that direction, but the resolution was un-fulfilling. Polyamory is a consensual arrangement. There was too much discomfort lingering in the conclusion between the three MCs, which left me unsettled. The triad doesn't have to ride off into the sunset holding hands to give me a satisfying feeling, but I closed the book imagining their future rife with jealousy, insecurity, and chest pounding. In other words, a short future. Nevertheless, it was a pleasurable read and I'll probably pick up Reconstructing Meredith, the book that follows this one.
