In this short novella, Ash and Meghan's journey to Tir Na Nog is described. We learn some new things, mostly about Ash.As usual, I am annoyed by Julie Kagawa's writing. It wasn't too cliche this time, but it just didn't feel right to me. I've narrowed it down, and I'm pretty sure that I've realized that the way Meghan thinks just isn't realistic, and the events that happen usually seem to align perfectly so that everything works out. It feels like the protagonists are always getting it easy.But, at least now Ash and Meghan's romance makes some sense(even if not alot). I've read this after reading The Iron Daughter, and in the book it seemed like they were getting too serious, too fast.They still are, but at least now I know they've kissed more than once before Meghan had her outburst in front of Rowan and Ash. I'm no sure if I like this book because it's not as bad as I expected it to be, or because it makes Meghan's future actions seem more rational, but I'm just going to enjoy the feeling, as I've come to the decision that this is probably Julie Kagawa's best piece of literature. For a short in between books story, I loved it. I honestly don't find her and Ash's relationship all that unlikely, nor do I think it's instalove. I feel like they just take comfort in each other, and while she may not know that much about him, it's okay to find comfort in another person.. Or fey in this case. This is a great story, I enjoyed the creepy woman and her baby. I'm pretty excited to read Iron Daughter!
