About book L'anello Di Fuoco (2006)

The Ring of Fire is the first book in the Century Kids series. The story is set in Rome, at a small hotel run by a widowed man, his two sisters, and his 12 year old daughter, Electra. When the hotel gets overbooked on New Year's Eve, the reader is introduced to Harvey, the grumpy American 12 year old, Mistral, the 12 year old French girl, and Chang, the 12 year old Chinese boy. All of the kids must sleep in Electra's room and they discover they have a common birthday, February 29. Upon this discovery, there is a blackout in Rome. The adults are asleep and the kids decide to go exploring. They run into an older man carrying a brief case, begging them to take it. They end up taking the mysterious case and from there are chased by what sounds like a kids version of the Italian mafia. They soon find people linked with the man who gave them the briefcase, and discover they are on the track of the Ring of Fire. They must figure out the clues, before it's too late--for them and the end of the world.Would be a great addition to any mystery book group. The audio version was excellent, as the narrator was adept at portraying the characters accents, helping the listener to really understand what was happening. I agree with those who said that this book is like Da Vinci Code... but this book belongs to children. My friend recommended me this book. She said that this book is very very good. So I was curious and pick it when I saw it in bookstore. I read and read... it's interesting... but also boring. I like the mysteries, the characters (especially the four kids) and the chemistry between them, but I don't really like the climax. It's..................... I don't know... lost of words. But I don't really enjoy reading. I love some part, for instance the part when Joseph killed himself and the police, how Harvey find him, and how Beatrice betrayed him. But the prime part, I don't think it concluded well. Until now, I don't know what the ring of fire is. Is that the mirror? I have to ask my friend for that. Still, as children's book this is good. Ring of Fire will persuade readers to think at least, so this book has a good use. I don't know wheter I'll read the next book or not. Perhaps I need more encouragement from my friend. If u like mysteries, this book'll be a good choice. Lack of action, yes, yet on some part it's nice :)
