About book Ladies' Room, The (2011)

I gave this book 2 stars strictly because it was an attempt at an original characters and the writing was fairly good. However, that is where the good review stops. The main character was an over-weight female finding out her husband is cheating but coincidentally ends up inheriting a house and a ton of money on the same day. Luckily her next door "geeky" neighbor is also well-off financially and renovates the entire house for her and gives her daughter her own business and a house as well. However most of the events happen so slow that it essentially feels as if nothing happens throughout this whole book. Very slow read and really unbelievable characters and plot, it was a struggle to finish reading it. This was a cute story but essentially that was all it was-nothing huge happens after Trudy discovers all of the "truths" of her life in the ladies room. I like that she is a strong character and is assertive in making positive change in her life but the story lacks truth and reality. In the end it is a happy fairy tale with a few laughs here and there. Everything magically works out in the end.
