About book Kris Jenner . . . And All Things Kardashian (2011)
Sooo yes I just rated a Kardashian biography 5 stars haha. I KNOW. When I started it, I almost put it down after a few pages, because I thought the writing style was too simplistic and I was bored, BUT I waited and I was rewarded! It was very interesting to learn about the OJ SImpson case from an insiders perspective, and I feel like Kris is very honest about things. It made me feel connected to the whole family even more, and I think that being so open is part of their magic! Kris has had an interesting life and proves that she works HARD now as a mom and manager etc, and that it isn't just easy sailing and like things are handed to her. It was so interesting and heartbreaking to hear about her first marriage with Robert Kardashian, the attorney in the OJ simpson case, and about how in love they were, and then how she fell out of love and how he was hurt. Just so raw and open. She is an amazing woman. I found myself taking this out from the library twice because I didn't finish it the first time and I wasn't going to but the Nicole Brown and O.J. insight was actually quite intriguing. I was surprised to find out she was so close with them. A terrible experience for her, for example the day after Nicole was murdered Kris had plans to meet her to discuss something private and crucial...eerily makes you wonder what Nicole was finally ready to say. Events like this make for an extraordinary read. Towards the end of the book you can tell Kris is the one that keeps the Kardashian name a thriving brand. I'm left with mixed feelings. I don't feel like I have to like Kris to have enjoyed the book. It was insight into that sort of lifestyle but there was plenty left out...you can tell. Also, the way in which Kris has been driven all her life, gotten the things she wanted, etc etc, paints a picture of a women who knows how to network, use and possibly manipulate to a T, making the "leaked sex tape" wasn't so leaked
