An accessible and to-the-point insight into the story of the world. Keller is relatable and succinct, and you can feel his passion pushing through every word; he deeply wants the reader to grasp the magnitude and magnificence of the Gospel. Only criticism would be he infrequently leaves questions or ideas hanging or sometimes doesn't go deep enough, but the latter can be forgiven considering the purpose of the book. 4 stars. The best book to share with a nonbeliever I've ever found. Keller's tone is engaging. Even though he writes in plain, everyday English, the words he spins as he reveals Jesus through the Gospel of Mark are (dare I say) magical, piercing to the heart. This is a book I will read again and again, both for the pure joy of Keller's rendering of the heart of Christ and because I'm sure that this first reading has only touched the surface of what is to be discovered and felt.
