What can I say about this book *sigh*. So much about it frustrated me beyond belief. How many times was it necessary for Riley to mention how hot riley or the men she was in contact with throuhg out the book. Towards the end I wished I kept count because it seemed to happen in every single chapter, I get it they are all hot now move on to something else. As for Eli and Riley relationship I am not completely sold by it and maybe it is because in this book it was completely stagnate. Only thing that really happened here in practically ever single chapter was sex. Now I am no prude and find it perfectly find for sex scenes to be in a book, however thats all they did and no growth was shown. Another issue with him was no matter how much she shown how she can fight, he was always trying to send her away during fights. After awhile it was downright insulting considering she always seemed to hold her own. I'm honestly not cheering this relationship on and hoping something else pops up for her instead.Overall I liked the book but it really did have the feel of a filler title. I am looking forward to the next one Eventide and will continue to read until the conclusion. I would like this series so much more if Riley wasn't so stupid 75% of the time. She makes me want to punch her and get her to think logically. She's tough but in this world of vampires and other creatures she isn't all that. She knows this yet continues to act like a 5 year old and doesn't listen to anyone. If I was Eli I'd kick her to the curb. This is another series where I don't get the fascination with the main female character. Yes she's tough and has hot tattoos. So far that's about the depth of her personality. Oh, and she loves her younger brother and is into the Goth style. We also see that she's selfish, a know-it all, bitchy, dumb, etc. The author needs to work on making Riley less annoying and shallow so I actually care about what happens to her.
