This was a lot more romance than substance. I don't mind a little romance in my story but this one was a lot less story and a lot more 'my vampire boyfriends so hot I can't keep my hands off him.' If that's what your looking for then this book is good. Even the romance though so can get a little repetitive. I was disappointed by how little actual story there was. Also I got almost disgusted by the relationship with the two main characters by the end of the book. Even if you ignore the problems with a romance between a human and a vampire (which are huge) then you had the most dysfunctional relationship I have read in a long time. There is being tough (and FYI you don't qualify for time) and then there is being stupid. Some of the toughest people and characters that I know are constantly asking for help. In fact in my opinion you can't be tough unless you know when you are in over your head and can ask for help. The main character in this book by the end just comes off as stupid, not tough to me. And you also can't be in a real, healthy relationship in which you say how much you love each other and then proceed to do nothing but keep things from each other and do nothing but judge the other person. For a book that is based around the romance there is less believable romance and mroe just sex, and you can't hang an entire book on sex. This book continues the story of Riley, Eli, Seth, Nyx and the others. This time the story branches out from Savannah to Charleston. It is extremely refreshing to read stories that play in other town, not just always New Orleans or some nondescript made up geographical area. To be honest, I would love to go to Savannah and see the area and just maybe glance a look at some of the others.The author has a marvelous talent as story teller. I am glad i found this series and hope she will continue to stay true to her own story line, and not what fans want to read
