3.25/5; 3 stars; BI've never read anything by this author so didn't know what to expect. This mystery books falls into the 'cozy mystery' category which is something I'm not always in the mood for. In this case, I was. Darcy Merriweather was a great character as the 'lead' in this story; smart, kind-hearted, curious, humble and funny in a self-deprecating way. I enjoyed her and the other characters in the town. Colleen Marlo was the narrator for this story. She did a pretty good job. Her accent was a bit unusual but I think she was trying to give the feel of the interesting way people speak in Maine. This is a whimsical cozy. Darcy, a young wishcrafter, has moved to enchanted village in Salem Massachusetts When one of the villagers is murdered Darcy decides that she will find the killer and exonerate her Aunt's companion. The killer kept me guessing. Though there were a couple of times when she didn't immediately reveal a clue. That is an easy way out of things we should know everything the sleuth knows especially since it is in first person.Interwoven with the main plot of a murder happening, was the subplot of pickpockets preying on the tourists. Both of these plots are woven and their ends tied up neatly at the end of the book, with a potential for a series arch left open. A fun read, I recommend it.
