the book “chasing brooklyn “ is about a girl named brooklyn. her boyfriend and her brother died doing a stunt. she was not haunted from her boyfriend she was haunted by her brother.it has been a year since her boyfriend died.she went over to brooklyns boyfriends house which she meet her boyfriends brother. her boyfriends name is Lucca. Luccas brothers name is nico. Nico has been in love with brooklyn ever since he meet her. Nico has a day with brooklyn (as friends) and they talk about Lucca. Nico lets brooklyn take luccas ipod. Chasing Brooklyn by Lisa Schroeder,the storyline is complex. Basically, Brooklyn is going through some depression because her boyfriend, Lucca, passed away, and her best guy friend, Gabe, also died from drugs after her boyfriend died.Through the plot events, we see the author’s message that there’s always other people to find,you can’t always be stuck in love with one person forever. We understand this theme through events such as Brooklyn trying to get her mind off of her boyfriend by trying out the track team with her boyfriends brother.An important quote from the book that reinforces the theme is “I gotta move on. Put it behind me. Put him behind me. Focus on the good. If i could figure out what the good is, exactly.” On page 67. This is important because Brooklyn is trying to move on and not think about her boyfriend, it is really hard for her to let go. Chasing Brooklyn was very interesting, I would read this book again.It was interesting because of the end, i really liked the end. It was very addictive also, i wanted to go to the end already.After reading this book, i have to agree with the author that even though your loved ones are gone, there is always hope for yourself.
