How could I resist a book that opens:"For far too long, I’ve stood idly by and watched a problem in this country get worse and worse. I’m talking about the pussification of America. We’ve become self-entitled, thin-skinned, hyperallergic, gender-neutral, View-viewing little girls. What we used to settle with common sense or a fist we now settle with hand sanitizer and lawyers. Masculinity by any definition is disappearing. My fear is that in 50 years, we’ll all be chicks."If you were surprised by anything that follows, you were forewarned. Irreverent, vulgar, politically incorrect,...AND laugh out loud funny at times, as long as you have any kind of sense of humor. There's even some decent common sense here and there, if you are open-minded. And that's my opinion, as a normally PC woman. This book was humorous – but there is little beyond that as far as purpose or point. It is more of a wandering diatribe. It really is similar to a stand- up comedy act where the presenter moves from one topic or genre to the next with sole intent of just being bombastically funny. I enjoy Carolla and the rating is more a reflection that you are not going to get some important or brain stimulating experience from his work. But – for a lighter side of things – it worked well. Oh - if you are easily offended - probably will want to steer clear.
