About book Imperfect Justice: Prosecuting Casey Anthony (2011)

I did not follow this trial at the time and so found the details of the investigation and the circumstantial evidence it revealed engaging. The book held my interest. But upon overall reflection of this story I concluded that for me there were two things on full display here. The dysfunction of the Anthony family and the extreme narcissism of a two-year old's mother that almost certainly led to a innocent little girl's brutal murder. I don't believe in hell but rather that we create our own hell. No one got away with anything in the murder of this little girl, they just created a hell for themselves that will be forever inescapable. We reap what we sow... After watching the trial and being devastated at the verdict, I was surprised there was still much to learn from behind the scenes with those who lived with the prosecution for over 3 years and walked closely with all involved. I highly respected Jeff Ashton in trial and appreciate the passion and meticulous care he contributed to the efforts to bring justice to a 2 year old child. The evidence against Casey were clear. Duct tape on her mouth and nose alone should have convicted her. I know the jury system is the best we have, but this case is the best example of my long feeling that such a serious decision should not always be left to those who really don't care about a child as much as what kind of food and entertainment they are receiving and how fast they can get this over. Really??? Shame on you, jurors. And shame on you, Casey, for not admitting or even being concerned your baby was dead. I'm not over this yet, but that's a good thing.
