I thought it was one of Jeffery Deaver's better books, the plot was interesting and out of the ordinary, using electricity for a weapon. At the same time some parts were completely predictable, like some of his other books. Lincoln Ryhme ALMOST gets killed and is seconds away before coincidently something happens and the paralyzed criminologist happens to survive. Overall I thought it was good. It had many noticeable spelling and grammar errors but they didn't take away from anything. It left me with a new interest in electricity and how it works along with giving me lifetime paranoia of anything metal or electric. . 3.0 out of 5 stars Nice try but no cigar, April 12, 2014 This review is from: The Burning Wire: A Lincoln Rhyme Novel (Lincoln Rhyme Novels) (Audio CD) Perhaps I expected too much since this is a Lincoln Rhyme novel by Jeffrey Deaver. I sincerely listened to it and quite often fell asleep doing so.There was an portion of excitement that brought me back into the thick of it interest wise but that was when I was more than half way through it...and then the thrill of L.R. was gone again.sorry to say this was definitely not one of my favorite Deaver books/CD.
