This was the first book I read on my kindle! I've been in a bit of a reading slump and this book really helped pull me out of it! Finished it in a few days. I really loved reading this book. It was a light, fluffy, fun read that was just what I needed. I really liked the characters and the pacing of the book. I'm looking forward to reading the next one!My only real problem with the book that it was very apparent that it was a British author writing American characters. When the American characters were speaking she used British phrases and sentence structure from time to time that kind of threw me off. One example off the top of my head is that Americans don't say "queue up" we say "stand in line." But that's really just one small complaint. I will say that it was also very unrealistic but that was exactly what I was looking for. Light, fun, overall, I had a great time with this book! Um, ok, trash, but actually well-written trash, that originally came free with a magazine. I found it lurking on the shelf when I was moving, and dropped it to the side to take to a charity shop, only to pick it up and glance at it when I couldn't be bothered to go and choose my next book, and I managed to get caught up in it, much to my disgust. The lead character, whose name I have now forgotten, discovers at her best friend's wedding that her fiance is having an affair, so stabs her shoe into the groom's hand (not sure why he gets it) and decides to run away to New York - the book is then all about how she settles in there and heals her broken heart by shopping. It's engaging, and if you like that kind of thing, it's probably a pretty good example, but it's still going to a charity shop because I was really not impressed with myself for reading it, and would have liked to deny it ever happened.

A typical beach book. Easy to read and good for a smile.
