This is the first book, let alone series, that I've ever watched the movie before I read the book. I have to say that I think the movies have done a fabulous job to portray the story as it was first written in print. Especially when compared to other examples. It is also worth noting that I was originally scared to read the series due to the dark component and dark story line. It only took going to the theatre to see the third installment to the series and knowing it was impossible to wait an entire year to see what happened!! I'm not generally one to latch onto sci-fi but when this story latched onto everyone in its path I to was held captive. The story is exquisitely written and the movies lend visual picture to each and every scene. It was so easy to see how well the characters were cast. Without entering any spoilers, I have to say that it didn't end the way that I had originally hoped. I stood fast by my view and hope the entire way through the series and it wasn't until the very very end, as ugly, ugly, tears and wracked with sobs that I could let my hopes die and embrace the way that it was and ended. Superb, superb writing. Excellent vision and fantastic story that shall go down in the history books. "Deep in the meadow, under the willowA bed of grass, a soft green pillowLay down your head, and close your sleepy eyesAnd when again they open, the sun will riseHere's it's safe, here it's warmHere the daisies guard you from every harmHere your dreams are sweet and tomorrowbrings them true Here is the place where I love you I liked it, especially the idea behind the story. It can even be believable to a certain point. Not easily dismissed. The characters are well thought out and developped (in my humble opinion ;D) and the story comes full circle, in spite of the ending which i thought was too nice and neat - that part was sort of too good to be true and i sort of broke the mood (for lack of better words). I give it 4/5
