About book Hundar, Hus Och Hjärtats Längtan (2010)

I'm a sucker for books that feature dogs on the covers and as integral pieces to the the overall storyline. Lucy Dillon has once again written a book that touched my heart and has proven to me that animals really can help heal a broken heart. This was a great story about grief, loneliness, family, and the quest to be happy. I became really invested in Juliet's story and even though I've never lost a spouse to death, I felt a connection to her grief and inability to move on with her life without her husband.Recommend? Yes! This book was a solid read for me. I look forward to Lucy Dillon's next release.Source: Public LibrarySix Sentence Bookish Thoughts #86© 2013, Staci of Life in the Thumb. All Rights Reserved. I love that she includes dogs as main characters in her books, I wish there were more books like this. This is another story set in Longhampton, this time a new widow in her early 30s struggles with moving forward with her life. She meets many dog friends, and a few people friends that help her just keep going forward. I love this book because of the involvement of dogs and the romance, which is not over done. There is good family drama without being overpowering. The wallowing in grief in the first few chapters, while understandable, was a little hard to push through. The side story of Louise was good the more the story progressed and you saw the additional tie-ins besides being Juliet's sister. The characters and the story was realistic. Look forward to more by this author!
