I have read all the books in this series and "Homicide in High Heels" is a great addition. I love all the characters. Maddie is a great detective and it was nice to have her be able to take a lead in this case. The descriptions of Ramirez as a stay at home Dad had me laughing out loud. The birthday party was over the top and a great addition to the story. Gemma has created a wonderful cast of characters who all play important roles in this series.I loved this book and am looking forward to reading more books in the series.I received an ARC of this book from the author for review. Maddie stumbles across a body, and this time it's personal. The girlfriend of a star baseball player turns up dead in the tanning booth in the salon owned by Maddy's stepfather. I loved the way Maddie juggles her job, her twins, her murder investigation (which her husband finds himself on the sidelines and actually asks her to help). Some of the characters are delightfully quirky and some of the situations Maddie finds herself involved in are laugh out loud funny. I'm looking forward to the next one.
