When I began this story and I saw a little boy, I thought this book was right for me. Children and pets are my favourite themes.But I didn't like the adult part of the story. Both Ty and Annie were so far and so unreasonable (Annie sure was!) that I felt detached from the story.I think I can relate with ANnie because Ty sure betrayed her. But I think that after a betrayal (one wich left a children!) you have two choices: either you accept and go on or you don't accept and move on.You can't stay both angry and ready to commit... Annie Sullivan has come back to Serenity to work at the spa as a Sports Injury therapist. She is still getting over the betrayal by her first and only love Ty, and his casual infidelities. Resulting in a child named Trevor. Ty is a major league pitcher, coming back to Serenity with his son after he suffers an arm injury. Unlike Annie, he knows she is back to Serenity, where Annie is surprised to read in the local paper that he is back in town. The scars she holds are still so deep, so to see him and the child that should have been hers in overwhelming. Annie now has to also deal with Trevor's mother, who has now decided she wants to be a part of Trevor's life after dumping Trevor off at Ty's door step when he was an infant. Annie's parents and townspeople are concerned that this will trigger her anorexia again. Sarah, Annie's friend is back with her children after leaving her husband. They can talk with each other about what is going on in each of their lives. There is also the drama of Helen's mother having to come and live with her after she fell and can no longer live alone.I really liked the story of Annie and Ty. Unfortunately, I felt it got lost with all the other stories going on at the same time. I like this series very much, but was a bit disappointed with this one.
