This is the eleventh book in the Sweet Magnolia's series and features Adelia and Gabe. While I liked this one, it wasn't one of my favorites from this series. Adelia felt very unlikable to me, ever since we were introduced to her in previous books. So from the start I wasn't as involved as I was with other characters. However, I really adored Gabe. He was really an adorable man and I really loved how he was with Adelia's kids. He didn't try too hard and didn't use them as pawns as he forged a relationship with Adelia. He was just really sweet and very swoon worthy.I feel like I don't have much to say about this one and I'm hoping the next book in the series will grab my attention a little bit more! Thanks to netgalley and Harlequin for providing me with a copy of this book to read and review. Hard cover book, chick lit, romance, contemporary genre Read 8/20-8/21Adelia Hernandez and her four children are starting a new chapter in their lives as the marriage she had with former husband, psychologically abusive Ernesto ends. She and the kids move into a once fabulous, now shabby house in the Swan Point section of Serenity, where she was born and raised in a close, God fearing family. It took a lot of courage, but Adelia is looking forward to a peaceful life, as far away from her ex as she can be. She works at Chic, the small boutique in town, selling clothing and contracts to start rehabing the house for the family.Enter Gabe Franklin, newly returned to Serenity to work with his cousin in helping renovate downtown. Mitch is hired to help Adelia as she fixes the house in hopes of turning it into a loving home. Not only does he take on the structure, he and Adelia can't ignore the attraction that's growing between them. And how he has come to care for her whole family, while they more cautiously get to know him.Two very scared people cautiously begin to care for each other while the Sweet Magnolias look on, questioning, supporting and getting them to take a second chance. This is a typical " Harliquin" romance interwoven with contemporary issues of abuse, divorce, remarriage and support in very changing situations. Although I never remember ever reading Ms. Woods before, I will not hesitate to read and recommend her work to others.
