Taking a complicated situation - Quinn and Amy are best friends, and Lisa, their friend who Quinn eventually marries, and is in the process of divorcing. Of course Amy has been in love with Quinn forever but never told him because she didn’t want to lose their friendship. Similar to Anything for You, but not as frustrating due to the MCs being a little more self aware and honest than in AFY. Subplot of threat against theater was a bit superfluous. Overall, not Mayberry’s best but not a bad book. As you can see from the description, this is a story of an unrequited love from Amy's side. Since I'm touched with this theme, I read it after it was recommended to me. The first parts when Amy described how she loved Quinn from afar and he married their other bestfriend, I become really sad for her. Anyway, I wish that the author does not describe what happen to Quinn in the second chapter so that I can still felt a pity party for Amy. I also can get how a girl can love a guy for 16 years (which is always mentioned in the book to emphasized how much she pins for the guy) and not really moved on, and not the guy noticing. There isn't really much conflict with the story except for the emotional circumstance each other have. The end is quite cheesy for me, but I wish there is a guy like Quinn *sigh*, a woman's dream come true. This is a sweet read, only have one sex scene, and quite a rest from all the erotica I'm reading lately.
Do You like book Her Best Friend (2010)?
3.5. I wanted a little bit more, TBH. Which is generally my problem with category.
