After reading several books in Sherryl Woods' Chesapeake Shores series, I'm struck by the many similarities in plot and the fact that these stories are as much about dysfunctional relationships as they are about love affairs. Each book seems to go on a little too long, and the characters do too much meddling and arguing. There's so much angst that it weighs down the exhilaration readers want to feel when two characters are falling headlong into love. Some of the couples are finding their way back to each other after a significant betrayal, and it's understandable and necessary that they would have trust issues. But it's difficult to imagine that men and women who spend so much time fighting and looking for ulterior motives would suddenly see their way clear to a happy ending.Still, I'm not giving up on Chesapeake Shores yet and am eager (?) to start the next book in the series. It remains to be seen whether I'll actually see the series through to the end. The characters ultimately are likable, even though at various points I wanted to reach into the pages and slap some sense into them. This makes them real and 3-dimensional but no less frustrating. Bertele-tele sekali hanya untuk memutuskan : gw tertarik ama elo, ayo kita nge-date. Hampir 2/3 cerita muter aja disitu. Mungkin krn Kevin masih berduka krn istrinya tewas di irak, bingung mau kerja apa krn sdh ga berminat jd paramedis ditambah dgn anaknya (Davi) yg jelas mbutuhkan ibu. Sedangkan Shana, lebih berhati2 krn pernikahannya yg gagal krn mantan suami yg alkoholik pdhal dia sdh terlanjur sayang dgn Henry (anak tirinya)Tapi setelah hal itu selesai cerita berjalan lebih enak.
Do You like book Harbor Lights (2009)?
