About book Hansel, Part I (2000)

I actually enjoyed this story a lot. It was an interesting retelling of Hansel and Gretel, really dark. There's some trigger subjects like physical and sexual abuse. I think the author did well in developing the story and talking about abuse respectfully. The relationship was actually believable and overall my interest is highly picked. She made the characters layered, and they were well written about. I usually have to complain about how everything is rushed and poorly written in erotic type stories but this wasn't one of them. Hansel is really messed up. But he's aware of it, and the people in a relationship with him know it as well. The torment he's going through didn't feel like he was a dick and he plans on staying a dick. I felt like with the right people in his life he would immediately ask for help and mercy. I've never done this for an erotic story. 3.75. Trust me guys, this is extremely high from me. Read this and loved it, but I think I'll save my review on the story itself for the end. This isn't a series of books, it's one larger story split up into installments. Not particularly fond of that format, but the first installment was free on Kindle, and I might not have tried the book otherwise. So it is a nice way to see if you like the author's style. My first book by this author. By the way, looks like it's a four part serial and all four have been published so no cliffies.
