About book Googled: The End Of The World As We Know It (2009)

I was able to attend a lecture by Mr Auletta a few years ago and my interest was sparked. Google had long ago become my go-to search engine, but why? What made it different? Detailing the beginnings of Google (humble? No, not really) the book follows the innovators rise to the top with a few stumbles along the way, and gives insight into how this has changed the internet forever. Can Google hold true to it's motto "Don't be evil?" Time will tell. In the end, I can't decide to hold Google's founders in high esteem for their genius and innovation or to fear their single-minded engineering approach to the detriment of almost every other viewpoint. Googled isn't the most exciting book you will ever read, but worth the time nonetheless. This book recount the history of Google from its early origins to present, a story whose ending has yet to be told. In this book Auletta is offering a glimpse into digital's future, he talks about how new media disrupted old media and the monopolistic competition revolution between the biggest advertising companies. He mentioned about microtransaction business model which started to gain popularity , how micropayments generate much more income and how they trick the people."Our minds are trained, link by link to DO THIS with what you find HERE and go THERE with the result"
