About book God Rest Ye Merry: Why Christmas Is The Foundation For Everything (2012)
I read this book as my ramp up to Christmas 2013. It contains a bundle of good reminders and meditations that will enable you to celebrate the Christmas season more thoughtfully, more purposefully and, especially, more joyfully! Saying that I read it implies that I read it completely, which is not completely true, at least not yet. "God Rest Ye Merry" is broken up into five sections, the last section containing thirty meditations, one for each day of the Advent season. My plan is to read these meditations around the dinner table beginning with the first day of Advent which, this year, falls on December 1st.I think you will find "God Rest Ye Merry" to be a refreshing look at Christmas. I just finished reading the first "four lessons" in the book, and now we are enjoying reading the Daily Meditations for Advent around the family table every night. And even though we still have a few weeks of Advent devotions to read, I can already recommend this book to you. This book is like no other. Really, where else have you read about the "Theology of Christmas Gifts"? Go grab a copy soon! This is the season to be Merry!
